APPROACHES OF THE AMERICAN CONGRESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT TO THE ISSUE OF NON-PROLIFERATION OF WEAPONS OF MASS DESTRUCTION AT THE PERIPHERY OF FORMER SOVIET UNION
Abstract
The paper considers the specifics of bilateral relations between USA and Kazakhstan in matters of non-proliferation of nuclear weapons. Records of Bill Clinton’s administration, Congress, Department of State and Department of Defense were used as a source base of the research. The list of nuclear weapons destruction programs is presented. The amount of financial aid to Kazakhstan, along with Russia, Ukraine and Belarus is stated. The results of practical realization of the program of mutual reducing of the threat are analyzed. The respective conclusions are drawn.
