INSTITUTE OF ADOPTION IN RUSSIA IN XIX – BEGINNING OF XX CENTURY
Abstract
In this article different kinds of adoption in Russia in the 19th century and at beginning of the 20th century are analyzed. Imperial right provided for different procedural and legal grounds for various strata of Russian society. The adoption practice of rural inhabitants of Russia and customs of adoption of some nationalities are examined. Some special emphasis is paid to the data that elucidated the relation to adopted children, the data of the State Archive of the Republic of Buratya and the Centre of oriental manuscripts and xylographs of the Institute of Mongolian, Buddhist and Tibetan studies of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
