PREDICTION WATER QUALITY IN THE RESERVOIRS CASCADE OF THE HYDROELECTRIC POWER STATIONS IN CONDITION OF DIFFERENT LAYOUT OF THE POSSIBLE HYDROUNITS

Abstract

The article analyzes the role of hydropower construction, current and possible future water reservoirs as part of the hydroschemes on the rivers Angara and Yenisei in the formation of water quality under the influence of the economic development in the region of the Middle Yenisei and the Lower Angara. In accordance with this main attention is given on identifying the role of reservoirs with the following items: 1) the formation of a possible economic complex, including energy-intensive industries, 2) assessing the state of the water environment that can arise under the influence of economic development of the region. As a research tool, a model that describes the process of changing the concentrations of impurities in the regulated water body (reservoir) and in the bottom sediments is proposed. The calculations made allowed to determine how is changed water quality in the reservoirs of the cascade of HPS under the influence of discharge of industrial wastewater of the promising pulp and paper mills in the Lower Angara region.
